Our Head Instructor

The founder and chief instructor of the Calgary Spanish Academy is Zulairam (Zuli) Wefer. A native Spanish-speaker with excellent teaching experience. Throughout years of teaching Spanish, she has mastered the technical skills perfectly suited to creating an ideal environment for learning Spanish. In collaboration with other professionals, she has designed a detailed educational program that offers a high-quality Spanish learning experience to adults and children alike.

Zuli graduated in 1994 from Universidad José María Vargas, Caracas, Venezuela, with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. After moving to Canada and becoming proficient in English, she obtained teaching certification from the Alberta Board of Education.

Zuli has taught private classes in Spanish-as-a-second-language in Calgary for the past seven years. She has also worked extensively with young people, and has training and experience related to recreation programs.

Zuli’s particular combination of professional acumen makes her the leading arm of our organization.
